It's often said, "It takes a village to raise a child." Similarly, making one's village safe may be best achieved through collective effort.

Cuts at OPD have left us vulnerable. The police point out, correctly, they cannot do it all. Forming Neighborhood Watch groups is one way we can protect ourselves.

Free CPR Training

The Oakland Police Department’s Neighborhood Services Division is offering a free community Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) class in August:

Anyone 12 years old and older may take the class. Participants completing the class receive a certificate of their training that is good for two years.
