Working for a safe Rockridge. Left to right: Sgt.Tim Martin, Sgt. Sean Hall, Community Resource Officer (CRO) Anthony Hutzol and Officer Paul Phillips all showed up for a "Coffee with the Cops" session held March 23 at the Rockridge Library. Look for Hall and Phillips as they patrol through Rockridge on OPD bike patrols. They will be joined in May by a walking beat officer who will patrol College Avenue full time. Similar assignments will be made in other Oakland business districts as well.

RDA Sets College Avenue Holiday Security

The Rockridge District Association (RDA) is pleased to bring security ambassadors to College Avenue for the holiday season. RDA has contracted with Intervention Group Incorporated, Security Services, an Oakland company, to provide personnel as security ambassadors during the holidays, helping to make this an enjoyable time on the avenue this season. They will not only work to keep us safe but will be able to provide assistance with directions and information.

Join the merchants and members of the Rockridge District Association (RDA), Saturday, November 28, from 3-6 p.m. at the College Avenue Rockridge BART station to celebrate the holiday season. Kids have fun playing in snow, visiting Santa with his elves, and listening to live holiday music presented by Musically Minded Academy. Pony rides will be available for a small charge. Donations for One Warm Coat and Toys for Tots accepted.

Continuing a spirited neighborhood tradition of trick-or-treating, live music, and spooky storytelling, the Rockridge District Association (RDA) and the Rockridge Community Planning Council (RCPC) invite you to celebrate Halloween on College Avenue from 12-2 p.m. Sunday, October 26. Participating merchants will host trick-or-treating along both sides of College Avenue, from Alcatraz to Broadway. Join the Halloween festivities and the costumed procession. Meet at "Halloween Central" in front of the Presbyterian Church, 5951 College Avenue, at 11:45 a.m.

8th Annual Out & About Fest Celebrates Rockridge Vibe

Attracting thousands of people from all over the Bay Area, the popular street fair - set for Sunday, October 12, noon to 6 p.m. along College Avenue between Alcatraz and Manila - showcases all that makes Rockridge a great place to live, work, shop and play.

Under new management, this year's festival blends annual favorites with new activities.

The Fifth Annual Claremont Middle School Pancake Breakfast hosted by the Oakland-Durant-Rockridge Masonic Lodge #188 raised about $4,000 to benefit our neighborhood public middle school.

The Masons generously hosted this annual PTA fundraiser on April 26 in association with the Rockridge District Association (RDA) and the Claremont Middle School Dads Club. Guests enjoyed a hearty menu of pancakes, eggs, bacon and sausage cooked up at the historic Masonic Lodge at 5449 College Avenue in the heart of Rockridge.

Once again, the Rockridge Masonic Lodge, Claremont Dads Club and Rockridge District Association (RDA) invite you to join us Saturday, April 26, at the historic Rockridge Masonic Hall for the 5th Annual Pancake Breakfast.

A hearty breakfast, including pancakes, eggs, sausage, bacon, fruit, coffee and tea, is generously donated and prepared by members of the Masonic Lodge. Four seatings are offered: 8 a.m., 9 a.m., 10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
