Chabot Elementary invites the community to bid on amazing donations by our parents, neighbors, and local businesses. This year's "Gold Fever" auction has a goal of raising $150,000 or more to support enrichment programs and vital services for nearly 600 Kindergarten through 5th grade students who thrive in a local public school where creativity, curiosity, academic excellence, and social-emotional learning are nurtured.

Then, walking to school, you have to watch carefully for traffic, especially at busy corner intersections.

In her introductory letter to Chabot Elementary School families, newly-appointed principal Jessica Israel Cannon wrote, "The years your children spend with us build the foundation for who they are as learners and, just as importantly, as citizens of the world." In addition to support for classroom teachers to help students feel "welcomed and included," she emphasized the role of involved families helping children learn, and pledged to "prioritize building strong partnerships with all of our families."

Join the Fun! Chabot Fall Carnival

The Chabot Elementary Fall Carnival has been a Rockridge tradition for years. This year's event is Sunday, October 19, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on the Chabot campus, 6686 Chabot Road. All residents and neighbors are invited to join in the fun and festivities at this Chabot School fundraiser. As always, admission is free.

Enjoy a family lunch from one of the food trucks, such as Top Dog, Boffo Burger, and Pihuama Taco Truck, then satisfy that sweet tooth by building your own sundae at the Dreyer's Sundae bar, or grabbing a treat from our Benefit Bakesale.

City Approves Chabot School & Recreation Center Tree Plantings

As part of its settlement with Caltrans, the Fourth Bore Coalition proposed planting trees along Highway 24 to mitigate the effect of the newly expanded Caldecott Tunnel. Caltrans balked.

Chabot Elementary School and all residents and
neighbors are welcome to join in the fun and

October Town Hall Meeting -- Rockridge Schools

This month's regular Town Hall meeting focuses on Rockridge's public schools.  Oakland School Board President (and our representative), Jody London, will talk about the school district's startegis planning process.  She will also introduce the principals of Rockridge's public schools:

Chabot, Peralta, and Emerson Elementary Schools

Claremont Middle School, and

Oakland Technical High School

Each principal will talk about their school and how they are working to make it better.
