Creek to Bay Day, September; Fun at the June Interim Creek Cleanup

Thursday, July 10, 2014

Saturday, June 20, marked the summer solstice and the DMV Neighbors AssociationÕs annual June Interim Creek Cleanup in the Rockridge Temescal Greenbelt. The group tackled pruning, weeding, ivy eradication, and trash pickup, and removed some non-native volunteer small trees and shrubs before they could get out of hand. A good time was had by all, and a lot was accomplished. Stroll by and admire the creek between Cavour and Clarke.

In September, DMV Neighbors will once again sponsor Creek to Bay Day along Temescal Creek in the greenbelt. Join in on September 20 from 9 to noon for (yes, again!) weeding, pruning, ivy eradication, and trash pickup - all most important to keeping our creek and park healthy and welcoming.

There may also be an opportunity to plant some natives along the creek as well. Watch for more news.
