Land Use Update: Rockridge Home space, Town Hall, Broadway/51st Construction Update

A sign of the times? (See this month's Town Hall program, "The Future of Retail on College Avenue.") Rockridge Home is closing its doors, perhaps a victim of the changing retail environment. The owners of the space are now looking for a new tenant. Could there be an expansion of the Namaste Yoga studio from its space next door? Perhaps another hair or nail salon? Perhaps a real estate or professional office?
RCPC's long-standing preference has been to keep College Avenue storefronts in retail use, but what kind of retail use do we need? What kind will be able to hold its own against big box and Internet retail competition? Your thoughts on what you would like to see in the space are solicited. Broadway/51st Street/Pleasant Valley Avenue Construction Update
With three construction projects surrounding this intersection, some trucks may at times stray onto residential streets where they don't belong. Construction trucks are restricted to major streets such as Broadway and 51st Street, and are not supposed to use smaller residential streets such as Coronado, Desmond, and Clifton. If you see a construction truck on one of these smaller streets, note its license plate number, or at least the name of the company on the truck's side, and what it's carrying (for example: cement truck; scaffolding; construction materials) for a report to construction company representatives.
