Public Safety Forum: Fighting Crime with Environmental Design, Feb. 22 10am

Saturday, February 15, 2014

In the third program in the series of public safety meetings, facilitator – and Rockridge neighbor– Gabe Kleinman provides creative examples of how other neighborhoods have worked together to improve public safety. Gabe and meeting participants will engage in a lively discussion exploring steps we might want to try locally. Ever thought of deploying mimes to discourage jaywalking? They do it in Bogotá!

This will be a highly interactive program exploring opportunities to reduce crime using tactics that could be deployed at the neighborhood level - from traffic circles and cameras in public areas to more creative options. The goal is to identify steps that could be a good fit for Rockridge and, if possible, pursue implementation.   The program will be facilitated by Gabe Kleinman and Virginia Hamilton.

We look forward to seeing you at Claremont Middle School, Rm. 1 Saturday, February 22, 10 a.m. – noon to learn how Rockridge residents can work together to reduce crime. Share your thoughts on strategies that make the most sense in Rockridge.
