Safeway on College: PARKING RESTORED UNTIL JAN. 2

Saturday, December 13, 2014

Parking on the College Avenue side of Safeway frontage has been restored beginning Wednesday, December 10 morning through Saturday, January 2 as a temporary measure for the holiday season.  All construction work on College and Claremont Avenues are halted under Oakland's Holiday Moratorium program.

Parking will be time-limited (2 hours max) and enforced.  The sidewalk adjacent to the parking spaces will be accessible, but it will NOT be continuously open all the way from Alcatraz to Claremont.  Access from the sidewalk on the Safeway side to the Cole Coffee/Yasai Market side will be via crossings at 63rd.  A temporary ramp and crosswalk will be installed to the Cole Coffee corner.

One lane of Claremont will continue to be closed.

Please contact RCPC Chair Zabrae Valentine chair@rockridge.org with questions or concerns. If you observe any violations of the Holiday Moratorium, please send pics to Zabrae.
