The Rockridge Community Planning Council would like to correct an error in the just-released February issue of the Rockridge News. On page 3 of the issue, an article entitled “RCPC Town Hall: A Smashing Success” stated in its third paragraph that the current leaseholder shows no interest in developing housing of any kind at this time. That statement is incorrect. In fact the current master tenant for the site, TRC, Inc. has repeatedly tried to get the site’s owner, a corporation located in San Francisco, to consider a mixed-use development that would include very substantial amounts of housing, including affordable housing. It is the owner, not the leaseholder, that has been an obstacle to placing housing on the site. RCPC offers its sincere apologies to TRC, Inc. for this error.
